As a member of the Optum Rx PBM Member Communications team, the Sr. Digital Communications Manager is responsible for managing our digital communications strategy and campaign evolution to engage members in their pharmacy benefits as well as in navigating changes to their pharmacy benefit coverage.  This position will have direct involvement in designing, executing, and reporting on digital benefit communications that reach consumers in our employer, government, and health plan markets. The primary focus of this role is on digital consumer engagement.

 

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to execute against multiple projects and excel in a fast paced, results-oriented environment.  He or she must be a self-starter with a passion for communicating in new ways and who thrives on finding creative solutions, seeking insights, and measuring results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and manage digital communications focusing on building awareness and driving consumer engagement with pharmacy benefits and Optum Rx resources
  • Ensure alignment of member engagement strategy with overall digital capabilities 
  • Incorporate consumer research and test strategies to maximize response
  • Assist with reporting; monitor the execution status of communications projects, report on outcomes and performance against targeted KPIs 
  • Develop communications tailored to specific channels and client requirements; consult on creative development and make recommendations for adapting style, tone and design to optimize effectiveness
  • Monitor feedback on communications and address questions or concerns as appropriate; follow up with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Develop and pilot new digital engagement approaches and platforms
  • Develop pathways to honor and integrate member preferences into outbound campaigns  
  • Work with peers to integrate efforts and share best practices
  • Work with internal and external creative services teams to meet program objectives and develop multi-modal campaigns
  • Represent member communications on cross-functional teams
  • Develop and manage campaign budgets to support recommended strategies
  • Provide consulting/advice to internal business leaders to facilitate development of effective digital communications (e.g., messaging, timing, branding, resources needed, preference management and access)
  • Contribute to/create cost benefit analyses in support of campaign evolution and digital growth

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building digital consumer communications 
  • 3+ years project management experience  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in healthcare or a highly regulated industry 
  • Experience with a matrixed organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in Workfront or related project-management software 
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity; self-starter
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and effectively establish priorities
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and presentation skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
