The DDI Principal Network Engineer provides network related analysis, design, and integration services including coordination between clients, vendors, and other internal support services and includes both data and voice across our global enterprise. Additionally, the Principal Network Engineer is responsible for collaborating with a team of network engineers to maintain the DNS Infoblox supported infrastructure with a focus on platform project work, customer consultation, conducting seamless change activities, providing quick and effective incident resolution during high pressure war room situations, supporting customer requests, and contributing to strategic initiatives to advance the quality and capabilities of our IT service offerings to our customers. On-call escalation support will be part of the role, as will operating effectively in a 24×7 environment with colleagues from around the world.

Primary Responsibilities:         

  • Reviewing the work and training/mentoring other engineers
  • Developing innovative approaches
  • Serving as a Networking and/or DNS subject matter expert/leader
  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed for this role and will work with less structured, more complex issues, while serving as a resource to others

Required Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience with DNS Technologies
  • 7+ years of experience in networking, switching and firewall environments
  • 7+ years of experience managing Service Now queue
  • 3+ years of Infoblox DNS experience including providing on-call support including working outside of normal business hours and weekends
  • 2+ years of experience serving as a SME in Network technologies

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Extensive experience in Infoblox, including DNS, NTP, IP Address Management, BIND, DHCP and related services including Configuration and Management involving Grid Master, Grid Manager, Grid Members

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
