Responsible for designing/developing, programming, maintaining data and business systems. Roles within the family work with vast amounts of data from multiple sources to maintain business operations and provide operational analysis utilized for decision making. Positions in this function include those responsible for a variety of functions related to the general management and general business operations across the company and its businesses.

 

Must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently creating and optimizing SQL by maintaining/updating server and tables and creating queries to support business and reporting needs
  • Gathering and combining information and data from various locations and data sets within SQL
  • Create and edit SQL Stored Procedures, View, Table, Query
  • Develop and maintain SSIS Packages. Accountable for all departmental batch job processes
  • Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio
  • Provide AdHoc analytical support to operations
  • Provides subject matter expertise on all data elements and report content
  • Drive resolution and document root cause for defects in application
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure the work delivered to the team is of high quality standards
  • Create and maintain support documentation
  • Proactively manage issues/risks and escalate them as needed in a timely manner
  • Support incidents, problems, enhancements, and projects for Risk Management / Underwriting Applications working directly with end users
  • Identify enhancements, design and build solutions to support business systems to improve supportability, operability or performance of supported application(s)

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience performing significant data analysis and report development
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL including complex queries, stored procedures, optimization
  • Intermediate level of programming knowledge (reporting code) and of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehouse
  • Intermediate level in creating and maintaining SSIS packages or ETL
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, charts), Access and PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MSAccess- Creating Forms, Setup/Edit Macros, Create/Edit Queries
  • Experience working with SFTP, ECG & FTP (Ipswitch) for document/data sharing
  • Experience with reporting and creating queries within PAU/Data Mart/Stratus(Teradata)
  • Experience with multiple platforms and systems preferred: USP, PRIME, NICE, UHOPS, iPro
  • Experience working with reporting tools such as SSRS/SSAS, Power BI, Tableau.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
