Success in these careers relies on many factors, your ability to deal with ambiguity, your ability to adapt and embrace change, and a long-term commitment to making health care better for everyone.  This position will be on the Optum Health Solutions (OHS) team and will be accountable for the Musculoskeletal Product, specifically Spine, Paint, and Joint.  

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, drive and execute a product strategy with respect to value proposition, positioning, product portfolio(s), distribution and product features/function
  • Manage product P&L; review product performance against expectations; formulate and recommend changes to achieve optimal performance
  • Innovate across the business in order to drive efficiency and growth; serve as a subject matter expert
  • Engage existing and new key clients for strategic discussions on market trend impact, current issues and new product concepts
  • Create cost-benefit analyses and frameworks to evaluate prioritization of new development
  • Influence innovation & integration across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across technology, marketing and service operations 
  • Client interaction and engagement is expected 
  • A directive style is a must

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of product management/product development experience 
  • Client and executive presentation experience 
  • Proven excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Proven to be self-directed individual with the ability to prioritize one’s work 
  • Proven to leverage critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with levels of ambiguity – can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, comfortably handles risk and uncertainty 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals by working collaboratively with others in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and implement 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment in a positive and supportive manner 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health care experience 
  • Business process experience
  • Team building and culture building experience 
  • Experience in medical device and/or pharmacy management 
  • Experience working in musculoskeletal program or other highly complex clinical areas 
  • Strategy or consulting experience; or engineering/product design background 
  • Demonstrated solid analytical abilities, organization and project/process management skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
