The Lead Software Engineer will lead software development, showcasing an ability to learn and apply new technologies. This role requires expertise in modern software engineering practices, focusing on designing, developing, and implementing innovative and reusable solutions. The ideal candidate will improve system design for better resiliency and contribute to architecture/design decisions. Familiarity with data domains and related tools is a plus. 

The engineering work is primarily done using cloud-based services like Azure, AWS, and GCP, and it is therefore essential that for our engineers to be successful, they should have had experience working on cloud-based services. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop modern, reusable solutions, improving system resiliency and contributing to architecture and technology decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in an Agile environment to understand and deliver new requirements
  • Mentor junior team members and ensure customer/market quality requirements are met in solutions
  • Stay updated on domain trends and best practices, aligning processes with business objectives and eliminating redundancies
  • Ensure compliance with security/data standards, manage risks, and ensure high quality designs by identifying and addressing root causes of issues
  • Writes good quality code and seeks opportunities to improve the overall quality 
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Cloud technologies, preferrable Azure  
  • Solid in either Java or Python programming 
  • Proven excellent problem solving skills 
  • Good understanding of Containerization and Kubernetes 
  • Aware of modern engineering practices like CICD, dev testing and experience in using tools like Junit & Mockito
  • Familiarity with systems like GitHub, writing and maintaining good quality code.
  • Database Knowledge – Understand SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Log aggregation & monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, or Datadog
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Data Domain Exposure - familiarity with platforms like Databricks and Snowflake
  • Understanding of Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
  • Code Security Expertise – experience addressing vulnerabilities in code & containers
  • Knowledge of CICD Pipelines, tools like GitHub Actions
