Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy Java-based applications using Azure Function Apps, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features
• Analyze system logs, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement in application stability and performance, specifically related to Java Spring Boot and microservices
• Write efficient, testable, and reusable code
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Implement security and data protection measures
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
• Work on integration of various azure services to support Microservices architecture and real-time data streaming with Kafka
• Participate in incident management processes, including root cause analysis, incident response, and post-mortem reviews for Java Spring Boot and microservice-related incidents
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement tools and scripts to streamline production support tasks related to Java Spring Boot and microservices
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, helping them develop technical skills and troubleshoot complex issues related to Java Spring Boot and microservices effectively

Eligibility

• Minimum 12 months in the current Role/Grade/Level
• Not on Active CAP at the time of applying for the IJP
• Employees currently at Grade 26 will move to the next grade and Grade 27 (Lateral Movement) can apply for this position
• Last Review rating of Meets Expectations or Exceeds Expectations

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 8 + years of relevant IT experience (Agile, Production Support)
• Proven hands-on software development experience with Java(>=Jdk11)
• Proven experience working in a production support role
• Solid experience with Azure Function Apps and serverless architecture
• Extensive experience with Microservices architecture
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming
• Experience with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment(CI/CD) practices and tools such as Azure DevOps
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proficiency in Java and Java EE technologies
