The OI & OAI CISO Office Security Technical Director is the primary technical focal point for EIS delivery of segment level security needs. The Technical Operations lead is responsible for ensuring that the technical security needs of the OptumInsight and Optum AI. business segments are consolidated, prioritized, and managed through to fruition, The role will act as a primary point of contact for OI and OAI and OAI technology leadership to ensure that strategic and tactical delivery of segment security issues are delivered upon by EIS shared services.

 

The OI & OAI CISO Office Security Technical Director must ensure that technology issues requiring security workforce resolutions are properly framed and the right resources or processes are deployed to continually enhance the Risk Posture and overall Segment Security risk management Program for OptumInsight and Optum AI.  The incumbent must be expert in EIS process and policy as well as Security Technology and the SDLC. They will and acts as a central point of contact for technical issues and escalations They are deemed a critical integration point with business and technical leadership teams and is considered a change agent for the business in understanding security risks as well as ensuring that EIS fully understands and is engaged to support the needs and objectives of our business and technical teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assume technical and functional leadership to enhance minimize and mitigate the technical and operations drivers of InfoSec risk within the OI and OAI business segments
  • Drive the technical and business level assessment and review of areas of security risk
  • Partner with Segment CISO and BISO to prioritize and actively manage the risk portfolio
  • Partner with segment technology and business leadership to guide segment-level risk management and operational execution
  • Act as primary point of contact for Segment Security Liasons in the proactive development of the Segment Risk Posture Enhancement and Reviews
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external clients and vendors on security and risk posture
  • Provide technical and policy guidance to Security Office team
  • Support the Segment CIO/ CTO structures in the development of and tactical enablement of technology review processes
  • Partner with segment stakeholders to support customer and regulatory audits of the Information Security Program
  • Partner with segment stakeholders to represent technical and operational elements of our e Information Security capabilities of UHG to both current and prospective customers
  • Provide leadership, guidance, team direction, problem resolution and accountability for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff
  • Provide support role, as needed, for the BISO and Office of Information Security
  • Significant level of communications (oral and written) to senior management on risk management concepts, as well as specific project risks and risk mitigation options/scenarios
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the business, their customers, and service-delivery models. This understanding includes strategic business initiatives and goals, key systems and key contacts within the business and IT

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience
  • 15+ years of information security and/or technology experience in a large, highly regulated enterprise
  • 10+ years of experience speaking with external/internal executive stakeholders relating to security program and procedures
  • 10+ years of experience analyzing risk records, technical, or policy exceptions
  • 2+ years of experience working with external auditors, regulatory bodies and customers
  • Ability to lead or in a matrixed fashion provide guidance to a team of Security Risk Assessors 
  • Experience with interpretation and application of policy and standards 
  • Experience with multiple information security frameworks (ISO, NIST, HITRUST, etc.)
  • Proven subject matter expert knowledge of the technology aspects of security
  • Risk management experience to include identification, prioritization and mitigation of risk
  • Project management experience, detail oriented, and ability to display/instill operational excellence
  • Demonstrated executive presence and has excellent communication
  • Proven internal/external client relationship management skills with senior management on issues and key risks to the business (presentations, executive summaries, etc.) 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
  • Technical security certification; CISSP/CISM  
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical security capacity
  • 2+ years of experience in AI or AI Security
  • Expertise in one or more technical security domains

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
