The Director of Data Analytics will lead our managed analytics service delivery for Boulder Community Health, overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least 10 years in data analytics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive data-centric initiatives across the organization.

Key Activities:

  • Lead the team and creation of new analytical content, enhancement of existing analytics, and rationalization of ineffective or outdated reporting within the business intelligence ecosystem
  • Guide the design of the backend data architecture structures needed to effectively power dynamic business intelligence
  • Facilitate team collaboration between business stakeholders, domain principals, subject matter experts (SMEs), and platform and technology team members to ensure the appropriate flow of data to business intelligence applications needed to power actionable reporting
  • Provide the business intelligence expertise to inform the design of the data storage and ETL processes needed for analytical insights
  • Lead the development of sophisticated data enrichment processes within business intelligence tools and the EDW that server as the single source of truth to expanded insights on base data
  • Partner with the broader analytics team to support data lineage, effective data strategy, and user confidence in the validity, integrity, and actionability of the data
  • Collaborate with leadership of business intelligence architects and domain analysts to maximize the effectiveness of business intelligence tools, dashboards, and other dynamic business intelligence capabilities
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the entire analytic development lifecycle for new or materially modified content
  • Manage access to content to ensure that only appropriate resources view data in appropriate ways

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the data analytics team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data analytics strategies that align with the company’s goals.
  • Collaborate with account leadership and executive leaders across the organization
  • Coordinate activities with Optum pillar leads in IT and RCM
  • Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of large datasets to provide actionable insights
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and develop solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all analytics processes
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support business decisions
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data analytics
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting continuous learning and professional growth
  • Manage, track and deliver analytics deliverables across the data and reporting teams
  • Manage budgets to meet financial goals

Required Qualifications:        

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics
  • 7+ years of health system analytics professional experience (e.g., business intelligence, program / product management, healthcare operations, clinical optimization, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and / or healthcare financial modeling)
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • 4+ years involved with analytics capability components (e.g., architecture, infrastructure, data management, delivery, insights, governance)
  • Ability to travel 10 to 20% to client locations

 

Preferred Qualifications:        

  • Advanced certifications in Technology, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
  • Experience with EPIC and cloud platforms is a plus
  • Experience creating design standards for analytical content
  • Solid working knowledge of healthcare analytics and background in healthcare organizations
  • Experience contributing to multi customer and cross-functional efforts, with proven success in creating healthcare analytics
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
