The International Privacy Director is responsible for the compliant collection, use, maintenance, and disclosure of personal data, including Personal Identifiable Data pursuant to the Enterprise Privacy Office guidance, legal requirements, and customer contracts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Privacy Program Operations & Incident Management

  • Draft Personal Data Processing Records (PDPRs) that document privacy risk analysis of business processes, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and revalidate such records with the assistance from business leaders
  • Support local lines of business and human capital operations with ongoing Privacy related matters including:
    • Mercury process (e.g. assistance on the classification of vendors as a data controller or a data processor)
    • Privacy by Design services for new product or service development
    • Participate in CPL process for new or modified products or services
    • Data Retention Policy
    • Privacy Policies and Procedures
    • Participate in ISO 27001 certification activities
  • Support corporate, segment, and local leadership reporting on Privacy metrics
  • Support customer RFPs, RFIs, and new acquisitions as required
  • Participation in local audit activities associated with privacy practices and policies
  • Guide business on Data Subject Access Requests to ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory response requirements

 

Non-US Governance & Regulatory Filings

  • Assist with filing annual submissions to country specific databases that is managed by Data Protection Authorities (an online report due annually that details the processing of personal data)

 

Regulatory-Implementation & Acquisition/Integration

  • Lead or assist in the implementation efforts of complying with new data protection laws
  • Assist with integration efforts associated with human capital operations and privacy program

 

Training & Awareness

  • Train and promote compliance with the law, best practices and industry standards, and Company requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a compliance or privacy related role
  • Experience in doing risk assessment associated with new products and services

        

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IAPP CIPP certification
  • International privacy knowledge
  • Legal background

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
