Senior Software Engineering Lead – Java, spring, cloud, scripting, Kafka

Primary Responsibilities: 

•        Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches to help solve complex problems with broad impact on the business
• Performing all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, and code development & testing
• Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
• Design, develop and test reusable frameworks, libraries and Java components
• Be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business
• Address the performance issues and design the solutions to meet low latency needs
• Reviewing code and providing feedback relative to best practices, improving performance etc
• Troubleshooting production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
• Demonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in Java development
• Drive the team and collaborate to meet project timelines
•           Test software development methodology in an agile environment
•           Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
•        Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
•        Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
•        Collaborating with business partner in creating user stories
•        Develop cloud-based solutions and applications
•        Design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure
•        Work with development teams to implement cloud-based solutions
•        Create and maintain documentation for cloud solutions and infrastructure
•        Monitor and troubleshoot issues with cloud infrastructure
•        Ensure security and compliance of cloud infrastructure
•       Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in cloud computing

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• 3+ years of experience in cloud computing
• Strong familiarity with the basics of cloud architecture
• Knowledge of cloud computing systems like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding with automation technologies and infrastructure as code (IAC)
• Understanding of scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• 4+ years of experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle in a distributed environment
• 4+ years of demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following:
• Solves complex problems and/or conducts complex analysis
• Cloud – Azure, Google, AWS
• Application Build and Deployment using Jenkins, Gradle / MAVEN
• Microservices – RESTful API, GraphQL
• Database – DB2, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres
• Linux/Unix
•   2+ years of experience Java/J2EE Development/Spring Framework/Spring Boot/Spring Batch
•   Experience working within an Agile/Scrum Methodology
•    Health care industry experience, claims knowledge
•    Data Formats – XML, JSON, X12
•    Streaming – Kafka
•    CI/CD process and tools – GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, JUnit, Terraform
•    Strong capabilities for collaboration and communication
•    Ability to function both individually and as a team
