Advisory Services Consultant – Data Engineer Clinical – HL7, FHIR

Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing interfaces on integration / interoperability engines (at least one) such as InterSystems, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Microsoft BizTalk, Corepoint, Qvera, IBM Integration Bus, WebSphere Message Broker or other similar
- Developing of software testing approaches and prior experience performing unit testing, integration testing, etc.
- Develop Data Quality and compliance rules as per Guidelines
- Coordinate with EMR and Application SMEs and create Mapping documents for data domains for EMRs and target applications.
- Mentoring and providing subject matter expertise to junior engineers

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience with project oversight, including communications to end-users and technical staff
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL. Candidate should be able to implement data automations within existing frameworks as opposed to writing one off
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies and frameworks or similar (AWS)
- Experience regarding engineering best practices such as source control, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment, and peer review
- Experience with cloud computing platforms
- Experience mentoring and providing subject matter expertise to junior engineers
- Experience in Healthcare Data Integration project
- Experience working with project management and tracking software (e.g., JIRA and DevOps)
- Solid understanding of with HL7 (Health Level Seven Standard) or any other Health Data exchange including HL7 v2, FHIR, HL7 CDA and Web Services
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration techniques
- Solid understanding of database systems, including relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools
- Solid understanding of FHIR and API-based architectures
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies, software design patterns, and best practices
- Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical partners effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities
- Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; and the ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Ability to work with more overlap with US time zone to work with submitters/clients at US time zone
- Primary Skills: Data Engineer with Clinical (HL7, FHIR) & EDI data integration knowledge
- Data Engg with SQL, PL/SQL, Azure and Cloud ETL technologies
- Knowledge in HL7, FHIR and EDI X12 formats
- UNIX scripting skills
- Interface (Rules) development
- Familiarity with XSLT, XML, JSON
- Analytical skill set – ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve Data issues
- Data Mapping and DTL skills
- QL – data management/analysis
