Accounts Receivable Specialist – National Remote

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

Primary Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing outstanding balances to resolve patient accounts within assigned payor groups.
- Working denied claims to resolution
- Posting applicable adjustments
- Making phone calls to insurance payors and accessing payor portals online
- Phone calls to patients as needed

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing and healthcare accounts receivable within hospital and multi-specialty physicians
- Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Previous experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and multiple computer systems and applications as the primary job tools
- Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medicare knowledge
- Experience with Meditech
- Microsoft Office – including the ability to open, save, edit, send Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook emails and calendar invites, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Teams.

- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
