Consumer Identity Risk Analytics team analyses identity risks across the entirety of the enterprise ecosystem and works with business systems to address risk. This position involves support and maintenance of Database Servers, AWS migration, Data Engineering. The Sr Data Engineer/ DBA will perform crucial tasks related to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our databases, which are the backbone of our operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires frequent interaction with various stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored data solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration
- Data modelling, big data development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development
- Storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning and other similar tasks
- Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solution with a focus on data stores and associated eco systems
- Management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing needs assessments
- Analyses current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities
- Design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting and helps to support development of Analytics and Applications that build on top of data

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as DBA on one or more database platform (PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora)
- 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues
- 5+ years of experience in Performance Tuning using platform specific tools
- 5+ years of experience in implementing operational automation
- 3+ years of experience as DBA on Cloud Platforms (AWS)
- Advanced level of understanding and application of database concepts and their integration with business problem solving skills
- Expert knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database storage operations, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication
- Expert knowledge of how to use indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively
- Demonstrated ability to detect and troubleshoot database server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with planning, organizing and leading database projects and initiative High volume, transaction processing background
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment
- Ability to work with less structured, more complex issues
- Health care industry experience
- Experience in business analysis, process improvement, workflow, benchmarking, or evaluation of business processes

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
