Billing Representative – Lake Success, NY

This position is full-time (37.5 hours / week), Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2800 MARCUS AVE Suite 200 Lake Success, NY 11042.
We offer 2 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with payment processing, invoice explanation, payment due dates and billing questions, payment plans, and financial assistance programs
- Claims verification and diagnose or ICD-10 mapping
- Review outstanding balances or billing issues with patients in person, via phone, or writing
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation for all appropriate transactions
- Maintain payment status and billing records through corrections and adjustments
- Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standard
- Obtain authorization for radiology orders

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years in medical insurance
- 1+ years of experience in a medical billing in private practice or physicians’ office
- Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and navigation, mouse and keyboarding skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience working with managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid plans
- Experience with EPIC
- Experience with CPT and ICD-10
- Knowledge of procedure codes
- Reside within 30 miles of Lake Success NY
- Ability to work 37.5 hours per week any shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with radiology authorization
New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
