You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home or in our offices throughout the Philippines. You will have responsibility over 3 to 5 scrum teams each composed of 5-6 full stack software engineers, a team lead and a scrum master. You will be working in a matrix organization where functional leaders provide direction on work priorities of each team based on business or program needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence
- Partner with Business, Technical and Strategic Product to manage project commitments in an agile framework; rapidly delivering value to our customers via technology solutions
- Own the applications’ technology stack and drive modern solutions to complex problems
- Strategic and Systems Thinking
- Drive design and development of resilient, reliable, scalable and self-healing solutions to meet and exceed customer requirements
- Ensure that all parts of the application eco system are thoroughly and effectively covered with telemetry to constantly improve the technical assets and monitor for regressions
- Relieve the team of “churn” and “waste” by driving automation of menial tasks
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with leaders across partner-teams to drive cohesive and optimal solutions.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written forms, and be able to present and demonstrate work to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Efficiency & Automation
- Drives prioritization of automation features in backlogs. Achieves automation coverage goals. Drives the use of AI tools in implementing solutions and enhancing development workflows, product features, and team performance
- Builds and grows team expertise in automation technologies. Mentor teams in AI adoption and fostering continuous learning
- Budget Management
- Manage forecasts and budgets from multiple funding sources for engineering team demand
- Recruitment and Hiring
- Actively participate in the recruitment process and lead a team of full-stack engineers, driving career development and owning standard resource manager responsibilities
- Team Leadership
- Mentor the engineering team to develop and perform as highly as possible
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in managing, mentoring, and developing engineering teams. Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- 7+ years of expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools. A solid track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software projects on schedule and within budget
- Extensive experience in hands-on development and architecture design, with a solid background in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial resources for software projects. Ability to optimize resource utilization and control costs
- Experience working with teams that leveraged two or more of the following: continuous integration/continuous delivery tools, REST API development, serverless architecture, containerization, IaC, public/private cloud, web applications, web services, application observability and/or messaging / stream architecture
- Capability to define and execute strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. Experience in roadmap planning, prioritizing projects, and resource allocation
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, including clients, executives, and cross-functional teams. Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
- Proven commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Experience in implementing best practices, code reviews, and testing procedures to ensure high standards of software quality. Adherence to Security and Compliance protocols to safeguard infrastructure and resources
- Proficiency in managing change within the organization, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption during project implementation or process changes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Development experience in JavaScript, .Net, Terraform, React, SQL or related programming languages
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards relevant to the industry
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the tech community
- Healthcare domain background
- Familiar with Observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk in creating system alarms/notifications and dashboards for system and application monitoring
- Familiarity with ServiceNow in managing Production incidents and On-Call support
