We are actively recruiting a Retention Specialist to join our Network Development team. This individual will be responsible for driving all membership pull through activities associated with new affiliate growth contracts, including coordination with health plans, physician offices and internal teams. The Manager will join a growing team of high impact, high motivation individuals, and is expected to manage multiple work streams while proactively and effectively communicating across internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communication hub for all membership driving activities for new primary care provider contracts
  • Form relationships with provider office staff, health plans, operations, marketing, and other internal teams
  • Coordination of calendar for all membership related activities, both internal and with health plans
  • Health plan engagement, notification and auditing
  • Collaboration with outreach teams on calls to potential members to explain continuity of care options
  • Education of physician office staff on how to inform and retain their members
  • Coordination with brokers to educate patients on Health plan products
  • Creation of reports translating membership pull through into ROI analyses for contracts
  • Preparation of executive communication to support Network Development processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of healthcare experience, knowledge of Southern California managed care environment preferred
  • Knowledge of managed care industry and regulatory environment
  • Solid sales, communication and project management skills
  • High energy and demonstrated ability to thrive in a very fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 2+ years of experience working with Health Plan’s & FMO’s agencies 
  • 2+ years of experience working with Availity, Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and Word 
  • 1+ years of experience transitions membership 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
  • Uses, protects, and discloses DMG patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Self-starter with ability to think and work independently and problem solve
  • Solid communicator and relationship builder
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to use Calendar Management Program

California Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
