The Dental Network Contractor develops the provider network yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. Dental Network Contractors evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining solid business relationships with the providers in the network and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.

If you are located in Mid-Atlantic and NE Region NE Region – ME, NH, VT, RI, MA, NY, CT, NJ, PA DE, MD, VA, WV, DC, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts and recruit dental providers to multiple UHC Dental Networks 
  • Work to achieve industry discounts with onboarding of new providers 
  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise 
  • Investigate non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others 
  • Work exclusively within a specific knowledge area 
  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines 
  • Provide explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise 
  • Have reliable transportation

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a network management-related role, such as contracting or provider services
  • 1+ years of experience in performing network adequacy analysis
  • Proficient utilizing MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of claims processing systems and guidelines
  • Willing and able to travel 30% of the time 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using financial models and analysis to negotiate rates with providers 
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Commercial Plans 
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information form others
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
  • Proven excellent customer service skills 
  • Proven ability to work in high stress, high goal orientated environment

New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
