This is an exciting role within the rapidly growing Optum Home & Community and HouseCalls division within UnitedHealth Group. HouseCalls is a service offered by Optum to eligible members, where a Nurse Practitioner visits the member’s home once a year to conduct a thorough medical health assessment on the member. This is a highly sought after service in the Medicare market with positive clinical benefits for our members and the company.
As a Manager, Business Analysis, you will be vital to our success and will help drive future growth. In this role you will be responsible for developing strategies and models, manipulating data, performing analyses, driving process improvements, and building collaborative relationships with our stakeholders to help achieve our performance and financial commitments. You will be empowered to make decisions and drive value as you identify opportunities to improve our operational processes through the use of data and technology leading to growth of our business and to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with teams that manage source databases to understand how the required data can be pulled and staged
- Gather required data from required databases and stage the data for further processing
- Determine and apply appropriate business rules based on the requirement in the data process so that the data can be made available other tools or processes to consume
- Work with Business and IT teams to provide requirements and bridge gaps between teams for existing or new requirements
- Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a hands-on / execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious) as well as a strategic capacity
- Oversees database development and modification efforts
- Develops and maintains documentation and standards
- Gathers, organizes, and interprets statistical data from the database to provide reports to, and answer questions from, upper management
- Manage the client intake requests and build into ad-hoc request
- Provide ad-hoc analysis based on output to business to address short term/long term concerns
- Control quality of work flow and document processes
- Enhance the accuracy of model outputs to optimize operational performance and achieve financial targets

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures with relational databases, data manipulation
- 4+ years of experience with problem investigation and resolution skills
- 4+ years of experience with data analysis
- Proven excellent problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven solid analytical and strategic skills and ability to analyze data and results and understand implications
- Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to convert data into business value story and explain the rationale
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams as well as independently
- Demonstrated intermediate level of proficiency in MS packages including MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to complete work assignments and achieve results in a matrix and sometimes ambiguous work environment
- Proven organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to be self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Ability to communicate and lead in a manner that fosters collaboration, greater understanding, employee engagement and commitment to results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
