The Enterprise Performance & Insights intern is responsible for supporting the delivery of performance insights through a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis. This role supports the analytics and reporting needs of Enterprise Communications in addition to various stakeholders within UnitedHealth Group Communications by leveraging a variety of analytics tools and dashboards such as Excel, PowerBI, and Adobe Analytics.

 

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of measurement and analytics, with some experience using various tools and platforms to assess performance and make data-driven decisions. Solid teamwork and communication skills are crucial.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing measurement strategies for key Communications programs and initiatives
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research across external and internal channels
  • Cleanse data from various sources (data extraction, scrubbing, preparation)
  • Analyze metrics from paid, owned, and earned media tools
  • Support the synthesis of insights from various reports
  • Perform data extraction, preparation, and scrubbing
  • Help visualize and build dashboards in DOMO
  • Derive business insights and prepare recommended actions
  • Regularly conduct competitive and landscape listening audits
  • Assist in developing performance reports that summarize opportunities for optimization

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university
  • Some experience with analytics tools or involvement in research, social media, digital marketing, or website tracking
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with website analytics tools, e.g., Adobe and Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or similar programming languages
  • Proficiency in using and building analytics tools, dashboards and data visualization software such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, Brandwatch
  • Proven solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
  • Proven excellent communication and collaboration skillsProven outstanding communication and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to make clear and concise presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to extract data and combine with other data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business

 

Soft Skills:

  • Solid verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to think analytically and problem solve when needed
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of social media, data, data sources, and visualization
  • Solid personal project management skills and ability to prioritize, make progress on multiple concurrent projects and share progress with your team
  • Excellent communication and team skills – verbal and written
  • Detail oriented

The hourly range for this role is $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
