Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as subject matter expert to executive leadership in support of value based contracting strategy
• Gather, interpret and analyze claims, financial, membership data and summarize key findings or recommend next steps without clearly developed guidelines
• Create and support standard financial reporting or ad-hoc detailed analysis in accordance with contracting guidelines
• Support conceptual analysis and strategies to team and internal customer groups
• Anticipate customer needs and emerging trends; develop solutions through data to meet those needs
• Solve unique, complex, and ambiguous problems with broad impact on the business through critical thinking and resourcefulness
• Present data analysis in a way that can be understood by a variety of audiences from detailed technical or financial explanations to high level conclusions and strategies
• Review data and analytics of other analysts on the team or other internal customer groups through trouble shooting and data validation
• Lead projects to completion by contributing to the planning, discovery, analysis and creation of new strategies, financial reporting or the automation of reporting

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in an analytics capacity with evidence of proactive critical thinking and creative problem solving
• Experience in the healthcare insurance industry with previous exposure to medical claims data
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Pivot Tables and complex formula-driven modeling
• Beginner to intermediate level proficiency with coding in Snowflake, Toad, Snowsight, SQL, or SAS

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with SMART or other claims platform
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audiences
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
