The EASYGroup offers a suite of products that include analyzers, editors, groupers, pricers that clients purchase from Optum and are used in prospective claim pricing. These claims leverage EASYGroup for pricing and are adjudicated on payer’s claims platforms.

This role offers a great pace of work, with new and exciting learning opportunities, as the work is dictated by the federal regulations for Medicare coverage across all care settings. This team translates these government regulations into software to process Medicare claims for our clients, the work is “real” and impactful. 

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze regulatory and business requirements as well as complex datasets, specifically for Medicare prospective payment software solutions
  • Write technical software specifications
  • Work with software developers to implement changes from the specifications in software
  • Test developmental software to ensure that specified changes were correctly implemented
  • Design and implement quality assurance procedures for the software product line
  • Manage software release activities
  • Provide product and/or regulatory training
  • Troubleshoot and respond to regulatory and product inquiries
  • Write documentation regarding product updates

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with comparing and analyzing datasets
  • 2+ years of experience with software development processes
  • 2+ years of experience with Manual Quality Assurance and Auditing responsibilities
  • Creating test cases ensuring software has been updated correctly
  • Very proficient at Word and Excel and proven ability to learn new software tools
  • Proven solid problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to comprehend dense regulatory language
  • Proven solid verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hospital prospective payment reimbursement 
  • Experience with CMS
  • Understanding of government regulations as it relates to Medicare/Medicaid
  • Familiarity with claims processing software 
  • Proven exposure to structured software coding 
  • Proven exposure to writing software test-cases

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
