Todays’ RCM is inherently complex due to opaque and payer-specific adjudication rules, incurring significant waste and inefficiency. Optum Insight is committed to delivering new technology and processes to improve the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflow using advances in Gen AI and other state-of-the-art technology that would ultimately benefit all stakeholders involved in the healthcare ecosystem — payers, providers, and patients.

As a Principal Architect, you will be directly impacting the full supply chain of healthcare, making more seamless and frictionless, and providing a better consumer experience that touches all aspects of healthcare. The Senior Principal Architect is essential for ensuring contributing to though leadership/strategy, establishing and maintaining technical roadmaps and representing all architecture disciplines for Optum businesses.  Working alongside the Optum businesses, you’ll have the opportunity to drive a transformative change into the largest healthcare company in the nation, with a focus on digitization and retail enabling customer experiences to keep pace with a challenging industry. Primary Responsibilities of the Principal Architect:

•    Contribute to the creation and evolution of a consolidated strategic architecture roadmap 
•    Define technical details of solutions align with enterprise technology standards and support modernization agendas 
•    Future proof solution designs by ensuring the strategic architecture accommodates transitional needs 
•    Influence leadership on key decisions as it relates to the technology strategy as well as specific line of business plan 
•    Reviews of existing systems and ongoing engineering to ensure consistent alignment with the strategic architecture 
•    Communicate architectural concepts and patterns into clear, actionable engineering direction 
•    Provide architecture thought leadership when selecting tools and setting standards 
•    Create and foster an environment of innovation including remove roadblocks and enable strategic risk taking; advocate and drive change management, enable and model adoption of innovative behaviors and practices 
•    Build productive cross business relationships with both technical and business partners to deliver true enterprise level solutions which meet of stakeholder requirements

Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or similar technical discipline  
•    Demonstrated expertise in delivering solution architecture designs in a complex enterprise environment 
•    Extensive experience in hands-on software engineering 
•    Demonstrated understanding and ability to design solutions based on modern cloud-native architectures (micro-service, streaming, etc.) 
•    Knowledge and usage of enterprise architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman 
•    Knowledge and experience in data management capabilities such as quality and governance 
 
Preferred Qualifications:

•    Master’s degree in computer science or similar technical discipline 
•    Demonstrated experience in public cloud solution architecture  
•    Azure and/or AWS solution architecture certifications 
•    Healthcare domain experience
