Overseeing AR for commercial side, Being SME along Supervisor. Act as resource for team members. Part of a 22 member team. Weekly team meetings. Monthly team meetings. Payor portals, EPIC are systems most often used to do their role.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Employees are required to work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.

This will be on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am – 5:00pm PST, Monday – Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • SME for multiple processes in the business unit
  • Reporting at the direction of Supervisor
  • Workflows/Changes/Assignment distribution
  • Works with operation and IT on issue resolution related to PM system, data issues, incorrect information, and collaborate on resolutions of these items
  • Pulse check: report out to Supervisor on updates
  • Conducts staff assignment review weekly: challenges and progress
  • Ensure reports and operational tasks are completed within stated deadlines and follow set policies and procedures
  • Completes write-off approvals up to $250
  • Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the daily claims process and billing function
  • Monitor outstanding claims and take appropriate actions to ensure insurance claims are processed out to all insurance Assist in team questions on claim issue from rejections, failed and daily validation of claims and training
  • Will also include quality assurance and audit of claims activities
  • Resolve most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels
  • Project Management
  • Additional items/duties may be requested as needed; appropriate training will be provided

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR Older
  • 3+ years of Medical Billing experience including claim status, claim appeals/reconsiderations, payment processing/explanation of EOB’s
  • Experienced with training employees
  • Solid reporting skills – able to generate, analyze large batches of data in Excel
  • Proficient in both ICD-10 and CPT coding – including modifiers
  • Solid Data Entry including 10-Key by touch
  • Basic computer skills with MS Office: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial payors and Medicare Advantage billing experience
  • Experience with EMR/EHR system (EPIC)

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
