Todays’ RCM is inherently complex due to opaque and payer-specific adjudication rules, incurring significant waste and inefficiency. Optum Insight is committed to delivering new technology and processes to improve the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflow using advances in Gen AI and other state-of-the-art technology that would ultimately benefit all stakeholders involved in the healthcare ecosystem — payers, providers, and patients.

The Lead Technical Product Owner will lead the strategic direction, development, and ongoing management of technical products (as aligned to our prioritized business product roadmap and our Technology Roadmap), ensuring they align to business goals, fulfill market needs and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Strategic Vision and Leadership:
o    Support Dir of Tech Product in the definition and communication to the tech product vision and roadmap.
o    Align tech product strategy with business objectives, customer needs and Tech Strategy.
o    Lead and motivate the technical product team, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.

2.    Product Management:
o    Manage the entire tech product lifecycle from design through launch and beyond.
o    Develop and prioritize a product backlog, ensuring alignment with business/customer requirements and business goals.
o    Work with tech teams, business users, and business partners to understand requirements
o    Write user stories and acceptance criteria
o    Manage feature and user story backlog (groom features and user stories, prioritize features and user stories)
o    Lead daily stand-up meeting
o    Lead SCRUM agile ceremonies for the team (story and feature acceptance, sprint planning, progress tracking, sprint retrospective)
o    Determine dependencies and negotiate solutions

3.    Technical Expertise:
o    Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to inform product development.
o    Understand complex technical issues and facilitate problem-solving discussions.
o    Ensure the product adheres to technical, security, and regulatory standards.

4.    Data-Driven Decision Making:
o    Use data and analytics to inform product decisions and measure success.
o    Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the product.

5.    Stakeholder Engagement:
o    Act as the primary liaison between the Technology team and business stakeholders.
o    Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform product decisions.
o    Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders at regular intervals.

6.    Agile and Process Improvement:
o    Champion Agile methodologies and continuous improvement within the tech product team.
o    Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
o    Monitor and report on product performance, using data to drive decisions.

7.    Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
o    Identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development process.
o    Ensure quality assurance processes are integrated into product development.
o    Oversee the resolution of technical and customer-facing issues.

Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
•    Extensive experience in product management, preferably in a technical field.
•    Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
•    Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
•    Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools.
•    Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
•    Understanding of software development processes and technologies.
