Individual and Family Plans (IFP) is a growing business within UnitedHealthcare. The Associate Director of Marketing Analytics will be responsible for marketing analytics and reporting that guides strategic marketing activities and communications, inspire impactful omni-channel initiatives and measure campaign performance across a modern media mix. As an individual with strong analytical and story-telling skills, you will be a key contributor driving marketing’s impact and influence in driving business results. You will be responsible for creating analytic solutions utilizing data mining techniques, predictive modeling and statistical analysis and embed these solutions within the business and the operation to improve member acquisition and retention, market effectively and efficiently and deliver optimum member experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment with a high degree of individual responsibility. This person will have analytical mindset and yet will be adept at translating highly technical information to a non-technical audience.  The AD of Marketing Analytics will report & work directly with the Director of Marketing Intelligence. This role will work most closely with marketing acquisition, loyalty, experience, media and strategic insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Implement Marketing Analytics Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing analytics strategy that aligns with marketing and business goals. This involves creating a roadmap for analytics initiatives, ensuring that data-driven insights inform strategic decisions, building test and learn plans and continuously refining approaches to stay ahead of market trends
  • Media Mix Modeling: Utilize media mix modeling and other detailed analyses to analyze the effectiveness of various marketing channels. Measure campaign performance and provide actionable insights that enhance marketing ROI
  • Storytelling and Communication: Translate complex data findings into compelling stories that resonate with non-technical stakeholders. Effectively communicate insights to drive informed decision-making and influence marketing strategies
  • Partner with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal teams, including business intelligence, digital marketing, demand generation, finance, and product teams, to drive advanced marketing and experience analytics. Ensure that data is leveraged across the organization to optimize member acquisition, retention, and engagement
  • End-to-End Member Lifecycle Analysis: Measure and analyze the member journey from demand generation through loyalty. Implement a continuous feedback loop to monitor KPIs and develop longitudinal benchmarks for ongoing improvement
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of analysts. Foster a culture of excellence, encourage professional development, and ensure that the team delivers high-quality analytics and insights
  • Loyalty Marketing Analytics: Develop comprehensive analytics solutions to support loyalty marketing initiatives. Measure the effectiveness of loyalty programs in driving customer retention and engagement. Analyze key metrics such as customer lifetime value (CLV), retention rates, and engagement levels to assess the success of loyalty efforts. Provide insights that help refine loyalty strategies, ensuring they deliver value both to customers and the business
  • Acquisition and Performance Marketing Analytics: Lead the development of analytics strategies to optimize acquisition marketing efforts. Utilize data-driven insights to enhance campaign performance across digital, social, and traditional media channels. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of performance marketing initiatives to maximize customer acquisition, ensuring that marketing spend is efficiently driving growth. Provide detailed reporting on key metrics such as cost per acquisition (CPA), conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS) to inform decision-making and strategy refinement
  • Predictive Modeling and Advanced Analytics: Work with enterprise data science teams to adopt and/pr develop predictive models using demographic, psychographic, econometric, and statistical data to inform member enrollment, retention, and engagement strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with a strong emphasis on advanced marketing analytics and experience analytics, including omni-channel journey analytics and campaign performance measurement
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing analytics teams with at least 5 years leading teams in a matrixed environment, with a focus on fostering collaboration and delivering impactful results
  • Demonstrated expertise in media mix modeling and the application of advanced analytics techniques to drive marketing strategies and improve customer experiences
  • Extensive experience in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques, with proficiency in tools such as Stata, SAS, SPSS, Python, R or similar
  • Strong ability to partner with internal teams (e.g., business intelligence, digital marketing, finance, product) to integrate analytics into broader marketing and business strategies, driving advanced marketing and experience analytics
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data insights into actionable narratives for non-technical audiences
  • Experience in developing and implementing end-to-end marketing and experience analytics strategies, including the measurement of customer journeys and lifecycle performance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in a Start-up / Growth business

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
