UHC.com is an important component in the Direct-to-Consumer growth for United Healthcare. With infused capital and growth goals, this role is a key leader for our success.  The UHC.com Product Owner is responsible for working with the UHC.com Product Managers on requirements for new digital features, writing user stories, working with the UHC.com engineering team, prioritize sprints, manage through the release. This individual will ensure that all UHC.com digital service needs, business priorities, as well as tools and capabilities are executed and nurtured to the specification of the UHC.com team and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the liaison between business team(s)/stakeholders and development team(s)
  • Accountable for the product backlog and prioritization of user stories with development team
  • Work with stakeholders to build a process to identify new product features, with the goal of capturing requirements
  • Serves as a key resource to partner with key Technology teams to deliver innovative Solutions.
  • Review of test cases against user stories acceptance criteria
  • Periodically re-prioritize the Product Backlog based on customer feedback, market changes and business priority as communicated by the Product Manager
  • Formally accepts the user stories once all acceptance criteria are met and demo-ed
  • Actively participates in Product Backlog grooming sessions, retrospectives, defect management and project team’s release planning sessions
  • Access-able for the team to answer questions, and during Sprint planning sessions, and Daily Scrum
  • Owns the continual acceptance criteria for business value story user stories, which is Demoed by the team

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of digital product, business analysis and/or project management
  • Experience in working with Agile/Scrum work environment as a Product Owner: writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance
  • Diplomatic with solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Comfortable driving teams and management to decisions; willing to push-back for information and answers
  • Digital development experience within a matrix organization

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and other Adobe marketing tools
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with both technical and business audiences
  • Healthcare insurance experience
  • Fundamental execution and communication strength
  • Adept at adjusting to changing circumstances quickly and professionally
  • Able to make quick decisions when clarification or modification is needed
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking by using appropriate information to diagnose problems, identify possible solutions and collaborate with impacted groups to drive decisions
  • Self-directed and able to drive detailed solutions to completion with minimal oversight
  • Detail oriented and obsessively organized
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
