Primary Responsibilities:

• Support the acquisition of companies across the entire organization, including Optum and UnitedHealthcare, with valuations ranging from $1 million to $15 billion
• Complete financial and valuation analyses that support the purchase price we ultimately pay for an acquisition target, as well as coordinate and execute the overall M&A process
• Receive access to the senior most individuals within the organization and have an opportunity to build relationships with and learn from these key decision makers
• Coordinate and execute various special projects with executive and business senior leadership, primarily related to the evaluation of potential growth opportunities
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

There’s no question that this is a fast-paced and rigorous environment. You’ll need every bit of your analytical skill to be at the forefront of projects that have the potential to change the health care industry. Your professionalism and communication skills will also be put to the test as you gain extensive exposure to key individuals across multiple lines of business throughout our organization and also to senior management of companies targeted for acquisition.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship (internships are not intended for graduating seniors)
