The Optum Health Networks Senior Trainer prepares and conducts training programs for the proper and efficient use of Epic and other Optum applications for implementations, upgrades, new hires, and mastery (ongoing) training.

 

Ideal candidates are self-starters with experience training clinical systems.  In this role you will need high emotional intelligence to maintain composure and navigate divergent goals and challenging situations. You need solid interpersonal communication skills to build positive relationships, use tact in sensitive situations; listen well to various points of view; relate well to others at all levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Train Epic applications for new hires, learners participating in Epic Thrive session, and during bi-annual Epic upgrades
  • Train In-Person and virtual classes
  • Lead coordination of training scheduling process
  • Monitor and respond to training service ticket requests
  • Support training team in box incoming requests
  • Utilize LMS to facilitate training sessions, take attendance, make learner adjustments based on needs, loading of training content, loading of schedules, and loading of learners
  • Participate in Upgrade and Merger and Acquisition projects
  • Travel to training sites as required
  • Serve as training resource for clinical and operations staff
  • Prepare, manage and maintain training classroom(s)
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Train other applications as required

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Epic training experience in a provider practice setting and/or equivalent EHR/provider practice related training experience
  • Experience with clinical systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Styles
  • Proven ability to work in a high-performing, fast-paced, collaborative environment with limited supervision
  • Proven to be a quick learner, willing to tackle new opportunities and challenges
  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and travel both locally and non-locally to off-site provider locations as needed
  • May require occasional weekend and evening work

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
