You will research cutting edge algorithms and technologies, and design innovative solutions to solve business problems that only a Data Scientist can.

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Be an active and curious member of the UHC Employer and Individual Advanced Analytics team.
•    Stay updated with emerging big data technologies and data science techniques.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners.
•    Gain a deep understanding of how data-driven insights can be applied to U.S. Healthcare.
•    Collaborate closely with a small team, sharing ideas and contributing to strategic goals.
•    Understand existing tools and processes to help create a long-term data science strategy. 
•    Develop repeatable processes that can be easily replicated by multiple team members.
•    Interpret data-driven insights for business leaders.
•    Prototype new products and solutions that have the potential to transform the industry.
•    Communicate and present complex concepts and results in a way that can be understood by various audiences.
•    Collaborate with the Network Affordability team(s) on ad-hoc requests and affordability opportunities.
•    Deliver on tactical data requests and issues for UHC E&I affordability.

Required Qualifications:

•    Undergraduate degree in computer/math/statistics/actuarial studies/data science/physics
•    Proven experience in analytics/data science/actuarial science applied to a business context
•    Demonstrated experience using programming to solve complex technical problems
•    Demonstrated experience accessing data from various data environments

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Extensive programming experience with SQL and R/Python or other analytics languages
•    Strong communication skills
