Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads Optum Medicare Advantage growth initiatives in the market by partnering with employed and independent practice association
- Works with Optum CO sales team to meet with brokers and attend community events to promote our Medicare Advantage plans
- Meets with IPA clinics and providers to discuss groups performance in affordability, quality and coding/documentation
- Promotes growth in IPA by engaging clinics and provider groups in discussions on benefits to joining Optum CO IPA network
- Partner with Network Managers to resolve problems for IPA clinics experienced by the IPA providers and members

Required Qualifications:
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active, unrestricted Colorado Medical License
- 10+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of experience in managing or having operational leadership responsibility in primary care clinic
- Ability to travel within the Denver area to meet with Network Physicians
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business (MBA, MMM, MHA, etc.)
- Experience as a practicing physician in value based and/or Global Risk Model
- Familiarity with value-based care, HEDIS, risk adjustment, and patient experience
- Solid understanding of and concurrence with evidence-based medicine (EBM) and managed care principles
- Project management background
- Proven supervisory skills, including clinical mentoring and coaching expertise
- Proven team player and solid team building skills
- Proven creative problem-solving skills
- Proven excellent presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences
The salary range for this role is $269,500 to $425,500 annually based on full-time employment. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
