This role works regularly with business leaders to build business solutions providing in-depth knowledge of Optum systems and training curriculum. This person leads national training deployment projects working with Optum clinical and operations leaders to meet the timeline, budget, and business goals. This person leads other trainers as a mentor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates training delivery projects for Behavioral Health clinical business initiatives
  • Serves as SME on project meetings and implementations, by leading curriculum revisions and by serving as liaison with Operations on training questions
  • Interviews and consults with key business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Assesses and interprets customer needs using pertinent facts and data to solve a range of complex problems
  • Maintains preparedness to deploy multiple training curriculums at all times
  • Handles multiple demands from Customer and Training Team
  • Develops innovative approaches
  • Balances multiple responsibilities while maintaining individual quality outcomes in training delivery
  • Creates project plan and ensures overall project is delivered on schedule and within scope
  • Communicates effectively to provide project status updates to supervisor, requester and other business leaders
  • Develops solid working relationships with Customer and Colleagues
  • Adjusts to fast changes with little lead time
  • Monitors and evaluates the impact of training and communications
  • Identifies ongoing and re-training needs and recommends solutions
  • Participates in internal continuous improvement efforts by offering ideas and creative solutions to improve policies, processes and tools
  • Supervises and/or mentors training staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Independent license in Behavioral Health (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
  • 2+ years of experience in a behavioral health clinical UM, Case Management or related role
  • 2+ years of experience providing training or lead support for clinical staff
  • 2+ years of experience working with leaders to determine training or development needs
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience independently leading classroom training that spans multiple weeks 
  • 2+ years of experience in a Management or Leadership role 
  • Experience in project management and/or instructional design 
  • Experience providing training or coaching in a virtual setting 
  • Experience with documentation systems including ICUE, OCM, and/or STAR
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
