The Senior Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-level technical support for enterprise applications. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring system stability, and collaborating with various teams to enhance application performance. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert, guiding junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical support for enterprise applications, resolving complex issues and ensuring minimal downtime
- Monitor application performance, identify potential problems, and implement solutions proactively
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications
- Lead incident response efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Maintain and update documentation, including user guides, release notes, and standard operating procedures
- Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Mentor and train junior support engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical applications
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in application support or a related role
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, New Relic) and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK stack)
- Solid knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Proven excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Proven solid communication and interpersonal skills
