As part of our OptumRx team, in this role you will play a significant part in supporting the IBMi infrastructure for RxClaims. This position will provide technical expertise for the storage infrastructure supporting RxClaim. The team is responsible for 24x7x365 support all IBMi storage and data protection infrastructure. This position will provide input to the Principle IO Engineer responsible for storage supporting IBMi. This position will assist in developing long range Storage and Data Protection plans supporting RxClaim running on IBMi.
Primary Responsibility:

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years experience in design and architecture solutions
- Solid IBMi Archicture understanding demonstrated by:
- Knowledge of IBMs support processes and structure
- Expertise and experience implementing PowerHA in customer environments
- Knowledge of IBM DB2Mirror
- Driving evaluation and testing of new technologies, products, and platform
- Develop and implement proactive performance analyses, problem detection and resolution and systems monitoring
- Manage multiple frame / multiple lpar IBMi environment
- Desire to expand into a storage role
Or
- Solid DS8K storage experience demonstrated by:
- 8+ years experience with storage solutions for IBMi
- Automation of storage commands including DS8000 DSCLI scripting
- Knowledge of NPIV and storage virtualization topologies
- Architect and engineer enterprise class storage solutions based upon business requirements
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and connectivity requirements – Brocade knowledge a plus
- Research and develop designs, including strategic road-map for Storage infrastructure devices, associated software and tools, ensuring
- enterprise-wide architecture consistency and reliability
- Driving evaluation and testing of new technologies, products, and platform
- Deep understanding of storage technologies, including replication and copy utilities
- Solid communication and personal interaction skills
- The position requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and the individual must possess a structured, methodical approach to systems administration
- Exposure to IBM Flash systems and / or DS8K
- Exposure to DB2Mirror
Preferred Qualification:
- Exposure to BRMS and tape device knowledge
