Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, mentoring and retaining a team of QA analysts, who are distributed across several independent squads
  • Setting Quality standards for the Starship organization, including defining key metrics and processes
  • Managing our Application Release Process, working with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure high-quality releases are completed on schedule
  • Managing our overall test case repository, ensuring current app functionality lines up well with both our defined test cases as well as our End-to-End Test suite coverage, and driving action on identified gaps
  • Assisting with our manual and automated testing efforts on an as-needed basis
  • Communicating thoughtfully across the Starship organization about Quality in a cross-functional way

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software testing experience
  • 3+ years experience with testing consumer-facing applications
  • Experience testing both native mobile applications and websites
  • Experience leading multiple QA analysts testing a large application, including defining and implementing test plans that require multiple analysts
  • Experience managing organization-wide Quality processes, such as native mobile app release or customer reported bug triage, and tracking associated metrics
  • Experience mentoring and training junior QA Analysts
  • Experience writing end-to-end tests using tools such as Playwright or Cypress

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience hiring and retaining QA Analysts
  • Experience with Agile development processes
  • Experience managing test cases and building test plans with tools such as Jira and X-Ray
  • Experience using tools such as Postman to test server-side changes
  • Experience testing third-party integrations
  • Experience using tools such as VPNs to simulate testing different business logic for users in other locations
  • Experience testing user payments

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
