Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and resilient cloud-based enterprise applications and distributed microservice architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and DevOps engineers to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensuring the team meets deadlines, project milestones and provides strategy for new implementations
  • Conduct research, spikes, design, prototyping and other innovation, exploration and learning activities
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
  • Performs complex conceptual analyses
  • Reviews work performed by others and provided recommendations for improvement
  • Forecasts and plans resource requirements
  • Authorizes deviations from standards
  • May lead functional or segment teams or projects
  • Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members
  • Understanding complex business requirements
  • Understanding the relative validity of the requirements
  • Analyzing requirement to identify possible design requirement
  • Developing functional and interface documents for implementation
  • Developing strategies to implement business requirements
  • Communication with client on ongoing basis which includes conference calls and written communications
  • Validating development code and identifying flaws on coding well before implementation
  • Data management between various DB’s
  • Document system problems and resolutions for future reference
  • Support deployment activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 12+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • 10+ years of experience with expertise in CMS, Medicare and Medicaid program
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#
  • 5+ years of experience in solutioning, Architecture/designs and hands on experience in developing high performing scalable platform architecture
  • 5+ years of working experience in Web Services/API, REST/GraphQL Architecture, etc.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure WebApps and AKS
  • 3+ years of experience in modern database technologies such as Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Mongo DB and Snowflake
  • Advanced level of proficiency in streaming platforms such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of Architect expertise in Claims Adjudication
  • 5+ years of expertise in UHG core proprietary application architecture
  • 3 + years of expertise in UHG application interfaces
  • 3+ years of expertise in UHG core proprietary applications – COSMOS, Claims Highway and MES
  • 2+ years of expertise in COSMOS Batch Migration strategy to ALEX
  • 2 + years of experience in solution and strategy in OCM Migration
  • 2+ years of experience with CMS Encounters EDPS extract
  • 2+ years of experience in COSMOS configurations

Soft Skills:

  • Expertise in converting complex business requirements to core UHG functional requirements
  • Proven excellent in design thinking and approach to solve business problem by applying suitable technologies (cost efficient, high performance, resilient and scalable)
  • Translating technical concepts for non-technical audience and presenting data-driven insights to technical audience
  • Serves as a leader/ mentor
  • Proven good oral and written communication skills

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
