Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a core member of an engineering team that designs and develops software applications
  • Writing code and unit tests, working on API specs, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing
  • Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement
  • Working with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and managing a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues
  • Be able to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners
  • Participates in the Agile team build activities
  • Contributes to the design of the application typically focused on specific automation or integration activities
  • Identifies reusable components and implement accordingly
  • Participates in the compilation of the User Stories as required by project
  • Interfaces with the LBA/BA to address the configuration associated with the User Stories
  • Works with all groups to help insure best possible design for a solution
  • Configures Pega solution including integrations between systems and development of automated activities
  • Serve as a testing resource for the implementation team in the unit testing and integration testing of application functionality and re-testing of reported issues from unit and user-acceptance testing
  • Management and support of the various environment
  • System performance tuning
  • Specialization techniques, Reporting, Routing (Skills based), Rule Resolution/Inheritance/Circumstancing, Class Design, Locking , Persistence, Authentication, Agents, Functions/Java API, Services, Connectors 
  • Can build sub-components of application solutions
  • Assists in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to BAs, SSAs, LSAs, Pega Client Support
  • Identifies and proposes PRPC enhancements from trends in requirements
  • Demonstrates an understanding of both the business process(es) and the technical application of the Framework(s) worked on
  • Identifies Framework enhancements or modifications made at client sites in order to meet project functional requirements or to meet ongoing compliance need
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Pega knowledge (including certification): CSSA with 5+ years of experience or LSA with 2+ years of experience or CSA with 7+ years of experience Work on Pega 7.x and higher version
  • 9+ years of experience working on software development projects
  • Development experience using Pega Express
  • Team leadership and team management experience
  • Experience prototyping and performance tuning applications deployed across multiple operating systems, languages and computing platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing
  • Experience with JAVA and related technologies, including relational databases
  • Expertise in objected oriented analysis and design across a variety of platforms
  • Working knowledge of the following PRPC design and implementation topics: (Work Object Relationships)
  • Working knowledge of PRPC architecture including the following: (J2EE architecture, PRPC Multi-node architecture, PRPC Caching, Session Management, Ajax in PRPC, Tracer, DB trace)
  • Understanding of the supporting tools available to Architects such as the Pega PDN. Must have working knowledge of how to search for documentation on different topics and open a Pega support ticket
  • Good understanding / hands on experience with Admin Studio and AES to troubleshoot the system
  • Clear understanding of Pega’s Frameworks and their offerings
  • Understanding of container technologies: OpenShift, Docker, etc.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (i.e. SCRUM)
  • Familiarity with Pega Health Care Frameworks
  • Familiarity with Pega Robotics
  • Familiarity with hosting Pega applications on OpenShift platforms.
  • Proven solid oral and written communications

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Pega RULES Process Commander System or other Business Process Management (BPM) system
  • Experience in leading a small team (2-4) of on and offshore developers
  • Ability to organize and facilitate discussions with 5+ people (all levels)
