A full-time leadership position dedicated to the Michigan HIDE-SNP program, the Medicaid Liaison is authorized and empowered to represent UnitedHealthcare regarding all matters pertaining to the contract before such representation. This person will act as liaison between UnitedHealthcare the state of Michigan, and CMS. 

 

The HIDE-SNP Program Medicaid Liaison is a leadership position that directs the strategic development, growth and operations of UnitedHealthcare in providing innovative care to members and stakeholders in the HIDE-SNP program. The overall goal of this position is to create a successful, collaborative team of people to meet the needs of members and the state of Michigan. The HIDE-SNP Program Medicaid Liaison is responsible for market development of HIDE-SNP health plan within the state of Michigan. They execute strategies through a cross-functional structure to meet or exceed annual goals and objectives primarily in the following areas: 

  • Oversight of a dedicated staff of service coordinators, transition specialists, Vendor Management and shared product community specialist(s) (e.g., Community Health Workers, Transportation Coordinator, etc.) 
  • Member growth, retention and satisfaction 
  • Clinical quality outcome improvements 
  • Affordability planning 
  • Overall contractual compliance  

 

The HIDE-SNP Program Medicaid Liaison develops and maintains positive relationships with local statewide advocacy groups, state agencies and key provider organizations serving the HIDE-SNP populations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, leads and executes market-specific health plan strategies and programs  
  • Builds, maintains and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders  
  • Drives industry-leading customer service and satisfaction  
  • Receives and responds to all inquiries and requests made by the state of Michigan related to the contract, in the time frames and formats specified
  • Promptly resolves any issues identified either by UnitedHealthcare or the state of Michigan that may arise and are related to the contract 
  • Through collaboration with external partners, identifies and provides recommendations for program development, including essential services and supports  
  • Oversees the development of policies and procedures for operational processes and verifies optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations 
  • Develops strategic goals and turns those goals into specific operating and business plans that are executed at the local health plan 
  • Promotes a positive image of UnitedHealthcare with local providers, state regulators and members

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of operations experience in a Medicare/Medicaid industry, at-risk managed care environment 
  • Experience in strategic planning and development 
  • Demonstrated successful leadership skills in program execution and people management  
  • Proven leadership skills in both internal and external environments  
  • Knowledge of the local provider population and facilities, and knowledge of community-based organizations (CBOs)
  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation to travel locally up to 25% of the time
  • Reside in Michigan

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MI Medicaid Long Term Supports Services
  • Experience with MI Health Link (MMP)
  • Tri county area, Wayne, Oakland and Macomb and surrounding counties
  • Reside in Southfield. Michigan

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
