The Executive Vice President (EVP), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Operations is responsible for all Revenue Cycle operations functions and ensuring and delivering on performance requirements by working across the organization to influence decisions that drive desired outcomes. This position will sit as an executive leadership team member (ELT) of Optum Insight Operations and help define the future of Revenue Cycle Operations.  This leader will be a partner with the Client Relationship Executive to ensure the full value of the relationship is delivered to both the Client and Optum Insight.   

This leader will have direct accountability for the operational excellence of the overall Revenue Cycle operation function and will work directly with clients both internal and external to deliver on performance commitments.  The success depends on driving efficiency, effective partnership, influence, and collaboration across various functions of Optum Insight, including but not limited to: Operations, Product, Managed Services, Professional Services, Technology Solutions, Compliance, Marketing, Finance, and People teams.

Primary Responsibilities:       

  • Drive high-quality execution and operational excellence that support the organizations growth and optimization strategies
  • Driving constant innovation and continuous improvement while pushing the organization to act to deliver capabilities that enable operational efficiencies
  • Accountable for driving financial management, remediation and cost mitigation efforts across the function while working in a matrixed environment
  • Successfully manage and develop senior leaders who are responsible for managing large complex functions and clients
  • Implementing the components required to meet the MSA terms like: Service Level design and reporting, Governance processes, Change Control processes, all Fees and pricing, etc.
  • Understanding the strategic marketplace and helping to create competitive value proposition for strategic clients
  • Responsible for building relationships with key client executives to understand and deliver on their business challenges
  • Responsible for understanding all aspects of the agreements defined in relationship with client and managing expectations, facilitating any changes to the measures that drive the outcomes of the agreements, and working with the client executives to find solutions that deliver on both the client and the organization
  • Works in collaboration with the Client Executives to understand the needs of the client, work to find new and improved solutions to meet their needs, and deliver excellent customer service
  • Collaborates with and seeks to influence leaders across the various functions to deliver effective outcomes, programs, and service offerings to align with organizational goals and objectives
  • Develop and manage new client relations including maintaining customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry 
  • Proven Provider Revenue Cycle Operations domain knowledge 
  • Strategic thinker with executive leadership and influencing skills
  • History of success leading complex strategic business initiatives
  • Prior experience interfacing within the c-Suite
  • Experience leading a team of 5000+ people across distributed geographic regions
  • History of making strategic, operational and administrative decisions in response to emerging conditions and environmental circumstances
  • Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a wide variety of unique market problems
  • Ability to provide recommendations and insight regarding improvements to internal and external processes
  • Track record of facilitating organizational change
  • Excellent communication, leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time on a sustained basis

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience serving as a CFO of a large health system 
  • Direct experience providing large-scale BPO services as part of a Professional Services firm
  • Advanced degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MHA, or equivalent)
