As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be working with the Provider Growth team and will be responsible for building out new customer targeting models. This will involve working with data engineers to support feature engineering that connects and aggregates data across the enterprise in new and innovative ways. You will work with leadership to build and test predictive models to enhance overall sales strategy effectiveness. The ultimate objective is to develop a data informed approach to sales which prioritizes customer need aligned to a maximized Optum partnership value.
Schedule: Full-time position, Monday – Friday with standard working hours.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and refine sales team targeting and origination models: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to create and improve models that help the sales team identify and target potential customers effectively
- Analyse customer data to inform sales strategies: Examine customer data to understand their needs, preferences and needs. We will use these insights to shape sales strategies
- Execute studies across various opportunity projections, proposed targeting campaigns, past sales activities/results and client outcomes: Conduct comprehensive studies to evaluate different sales opportunities, targeting campaigns, and their potential outcomes for clients
- Collaborate with data engineering and existing matrixed teams: Work closely with data engineering teams and other cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and relevance of data used in sales strategies
- Create new and/or align existing predictive models to enhance sales strategy effectiveness: Develop predictive models that can forecast sales trends and improve the effectiveness of sales strategies

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Proven experience in data analysis, model development, and predictive analytics
- Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Salesforce and sales operations activities
- US Healthcare experience
- Knowledge of, Clinical Solutions and/or Provider Revenue Cycle Management product and operations
- Familiarity with Optum’s Provider technology &/or services solutions.
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and/or similar tools.
- Experience working in projects with agile/scrum methodologies
- Communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
