This position is for the M&R Reserving Team and would work on Setting up reserving for various MLR packages rolling up under different MLR plans this includes IBNR Management, Judgment Adjustment,Dental, Pharmacy, Nice and Sierra Reserving. Additionally, this role would require to work on various month end activities involving preparation and posting of Re-class and accrual entries, Balance Sheet Income Statement Tie outs, SOX tie outs like Paid Claims and Membership, Preparation of various reports related to Reserving Process, Non Standard Activities like Catastrophe and Special Adjustment Reporting, High Dollar Pend Reporting and Preparation of Reconciliations in Blackline.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Setting up reserving for various MLR packages
- Preparation and posting of Re-class and accrual entries
- Balance Sheet Income Statement Tie outs,
- SOX tie outs like Paid Claims and Membership
- Preparation of various reports related to Reserving Process, Non Standard Activities like Catastrophe and Special Adjustment Reporting, High Dollar Pend Reporting and Preparation of Reconciliations in Blackline
- Performing UAT’s on system migrations
- Process Enhancements oppurtunities should be identified and updating of SOP’s and cross training plans implemeted
- Setting up of Resererves,Correct Preparation of Journal entries and Tie Out Reports.Blackline Reconciliations as per corporate guidelines’- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
- Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
- Prepare documentation in Support of external and internal audits
- Performs work in a self-directed manner
- Onshore partner interactions, and handling Business calls
- Not afraid to ask questions, chase folks and ensure tasks are being completed on time
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Post graduation in accounting / Finance or its equivivalent
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting
- Working knowledge on basic and advanced Excel skills
- Solid Accounting Background, Understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition principles
- Good understanding of General Ledger and chart field attributes
- Proven ability to develop and establish financial polices and procedures
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports
- Proven good Interpersonal skills and Analytical skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
