This Associate Director, Strategy and Operations, position provides high-level support to executive leadership by overseeing day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include serving as a key advisor to the executive, managing correspondence, coordinating initiatives, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The role may also involve leading special projects and monitoring organizational goals.
Candidates are expected to possess solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to influence and drive change. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, contribute to decision-making processes, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
This role supports the Senior Vice President of UnitedHealth Group’s Corporate Services, which is a team that serves across the enterprise as real estate, procurement, environmental, occupational health, and safety specialists.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Prioritization
- Ensure effective execution of the executive’s strategic priorities and objectives
- Lead and oversee special projects and initiatives on behalf of the executive, ensuring timely completion
- Anticipate and proactively address the needs of the executive and the organization
- Track progress on organizational goals, provide updates to the executive, and ensure alignment with the executive’s vision
- Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Act as a liaison between the executive and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication
- Act as a representative of the executive in meetings, conferences, and events as required
- Serve as the primary point of contact for upward communications to senior leadership
- Operational Support and Coordination
- Support the executive leader in day-to-day operations, decision-making, and strategic initiatives
- Prioritize and manage the executive’s schedule, appointments, expenses, communications, and correspondence in collaboration with the Executive Administrator
- Manage the process of collecting inputs and submissions from multiple stakeholders, consolidating into specific single presentation formats
- Evaluate and filter presentations before they reach the executive for review and consideration
- Act as a backup to the Executive Administrator
- Accompany the executive, including domestic and global travel, to capture action items and ensure follow-through to completion

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of project coordination or administrative support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools and GenAI
- Proven solid organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to influence without authority and build solid relationships
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Lives within commutable distance to corporate headquarters; able to be in office as needed
- Able to travel (domestic and international) as needed, up to 50% of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project management or strategy-focused industries
- Experience in healthcare or customer service-focused industries (e.g., retail)
- Experience working in a Fortune 1-5 company

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
