Under the supervision of the Network Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for the daily coordination of Network Operations processes in the Intake Call Center. This position serves as the initial intake of pre – service requests, claim reviews and inpatient hospital coordination and diabetic supplies. Coordinates Network Operations processes with Medical Directors, Network Operations Nurses, hospitals, physicians and other various departments. Provides clerical support to clinical staff in their medical necessity review process. Intake Coordinator is expected to maintain production and quality standards.

 

This position is part-time (25 hours/ week) Monday through Friday. 7:00 am -12:00 pm CST (morning shift)

Training will be conducted virtually from your home and will be a total of five hours a day. Monday through Friday and run from 8 am – 1 pm CST. The training will be a minimum of 6 weeks.

If you are located in MST or CST, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handling a high volume of inbound calls in a fast-paced provider contact center.
  • Delivering exceptional customer experiences, resolving complex issues, and consistently achieving positive results on our NPS customer surveys.
  • Creating, checking, and handling general questions regarding prior authorizations.
  • Keep up to date on organizational process changes and corresponding resources.
  • Schedule flexibility and rendering business required overtime as needed.
  • Maintaining timely communication with leadership via text message or Teams.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of combined or related experience in a healthcare, call center, and/or customer service setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instrument to perform job duties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Microsoft Word (create and maintain documents), Microsoft Excel (create and maintain spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendaring) 
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm CST (morning shift) . It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (or higher) in a healthcare related field
  • Medical Terminology
  • ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT Knowledge 

 

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within MST or CST
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
