The Regional Accountable Entity (RAE) Waiver and Member Support Specialist (“Support Specialist”) for the Colorado C&S Behavioral Health Administration and Long-Term Services and Supports Teams. This position will work directly with members and providers within Colorado’s RAE (Medicaid) and Home and Community Base Service (HCBS) Waiver programs to provide expert level connection and navigation of available waiver programs in Colorado. The Support Specialist will interface directly with Members, Providers, Advocates and the Colorado State Medicaid Agency, including the Office of Community Living. The Support Specialist will support RAE Care Coordinators who need assistance in helping Members navigate waiver application processes as well as other complex navigation needs by the RAE teams. The Support Specialty will work directly with the RAE Care Coordination Director and Managers, the RAE Chief Behavioral Health Officer, the RAE Program Officer and the Vice President of Clinical Services.

Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Standard time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain up to date policies and procedures for navigating the end-to-end process of identification of potential waivers and finalization of the waiver application process
- Actively participate in training and education to maintain subject matter expertise in all HCBS waivers as well as health care benefits available to Colorado Medicaid Members
- Develop trainings for internal staff and external partners, including Providers
- Engage in both RAE and HCBS meetings with state partners
- Become a known, trusted partner to Colorado’s State Medicaid Agency
- Respect confidentiality and maintain confidences as described in the UHG Employee Handbook and acknowledged through signature by all employees. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a critical and essential component of this position
- Utilize advanced business and technical writing skills to develop a variety of stakeholder communications and reports
- Work collaboratively with other staff and various internal and external resources to represent and respond to a variety of complex inquiries related to HCBS waivers from Providers, Members and community stakeholders. Use excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional demeanor, tact, systems thinking, and a commitment to quality to assist in the resolution of sensitive and complex issues primarily via the telephone and in person
- Responsible for providing technical services necessary to support the RAE team
- Support community-based care coordination teams with resources as needed
- This position may require travel. Requires independent, reliable, flexible, and on-demand, transportation at the incumbent’s expense for travel between various locations and timely arrival and departure from various locations. If the employee chooses to satisfy this requirement by driving a vehicle, the employee must meet the requirements for Colorado licensure and company requirements for liability insurance coverage

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a health care related field, communications, business, or other related field OR at least 5+ years of experience or the combination of education and business experience that would enable performance of the full scope of the position
- 2+ years of experience or knowledge with Colorado Home and Community-Based Services
- 2+ years of experience working with demonstrated ability to administratively manage projects or programs
- 2+ years of experience showcasing attention to detail and initiative to ensure data is complete, accurate, and presented in a timely manner
- 2+ years of experience that results in demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues from the community and provide exceptional service
- 2+ years of experience demonstrating excellent business writing and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Reside in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Must live in the state of Colorado
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health education, motivational strategies, and an empathetic manner working with the underserved
- Knowledge of behavioral healthcare
- Knowledge of local area
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
