Pharmacy Care Technician – Remote Nationwide

The Pharmacy Care Technician positions primary responsibility is to oversee the management of all aspects of the practices medication management systems such as refills, medication authorizations, prior authorizations and electronic prescribing systems. In addition, this staff member acts as liaison between the physician practice care team, the pharmacist both internal and external, and pharmaceutical representatives.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hrs./week, CST or MTN time zone
Location: Remote-Nationwide

Primary Responsibilities:
- Process medication prior authorizations in a timely manner
- Distributes and manage faxes from pharmacies
- Acts as subject matter expert for EHR medication module use and setup
- Acts as physician liaison to pharmaceutical representatives (if applicable)
- Acts as physician care team liaison to pharmacies
- Acts as patient liaison to the Care Team
- Assists Pharmacist as needed
- Manages unmatched electronic prescription refills
- Identifies medication assistance programs and assists patients with applying for assistance
- Provides education including written materials to patients as needed
- Follows up on medication recalls
- Performs patient outreach for medication adherence, generic drug and other medication monitoring reports
- Assists members of the Care Team with medication research and general questions
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
- National Pharmacy Technician certification
- 2+ years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with outpatient community pharmacy and/or prior authorization
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently

The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
