Primary Responsibilities:
- Medication Preparation:
- Accurately prepare and mix IV solutions and medications according to protocols and best practices
- Calculate dosages and ensure proper mixing techniques for sterile compounding
- Accurately prepare and mix IV solutions and medications according to protocols and best practices
- Patient Care:
- Provide patient education and counseling on medication administration, potential side effects, and proper handling of infusion equipment
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and adjust therapies in collaboration with healthcare providers
- Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients receiving infusion therapy

- Clinical Expertise:
- Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness, ensuring safe and effective drug therapy
- Advise physicians and other healthcare professionals on medication selection, dosage, and interactions
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in infusion therapy and medication safety

- Specialized Settings:
- May be involved in managing complex infusion therapies, such as chemotherapy or pain management

- Other Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of medication preparation and administration
- Manage inventory of infusion medications and supplies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes

Required Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist License in the State of New Mexico
- 3+ years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist
- Experience conducting research and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sterile compounding certifications or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. PharmD
- Sterile compounding experience
- Experience supervising pharmacy technicians
- Experience working with infusion affordability initiatives
The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
