Primary Responsibilities:

• Google Cloud MySQL DBA
• Perform operational maintenance and support of 200+ database instances across 15 environments in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for a highly visible application platform
• Configuration management with Terraform
• Supporting the application development and architecture teams with performance tuning and SQL development
• War rooms and incident restoration
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a DBA
• 2+ years of experience with MySQL database administration
• 1+ years of GCP Cloud MySQL DB administration
• 1+ years of Terraform and GitHub experience
• Experience with designing and implementing database high availability and DR solution strategies
• Experience on backup solutions and strategies
• Experience in MySQL user management
• Solid proficiency in large scale MySQL database management
• Understanding of replication and clustering
• Knowledge of standards and best practices in MySQL administration and development
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
• There will be on-call support responsibilities, and expectations of cross-over shift with US shift hours
• Candidate needs to be self-motivated and take initiative with daily tasks and project work
• Candidate also needs great communication written and verbal skills, as well as time availability to maintain the relationship with teams across the globe. Organizational skill and attention to detail is critical with the size of the platform that will be managed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Application of AI/ML to database platforms
• Jenkins pipeline development
• UNIX scripting
• MySQL ProxySQL
• MongoDB experience
