This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday with standard working hours.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin and Letterkenny Offices and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements
• Automate repetitive tasks and build CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, or services
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards for cloud deployments
• Document infrastructure designs, processes, and procedures for operational transparency

Required Qualifications: 

• Professional experience in cloud engineering
• Hands-on expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, MongoDB, Lambda, VPC, IAM, EKS (Kubernetes), MSK (Kafka), OpenSearch, EMRs, SageMaker, Bedrock (Gen AI)
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles, networking, and best practices
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail
• Proven track record of designing and implementing fault-tolerant, cost-efficient cloud solutions

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure in addition to AWS
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Action
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer or any other equivalent certifications
• Understanding of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams
