As a Power BI Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and supporting externally facing Power BI dashboards and reports for our clients and partners. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand complex business requirements and translate them into compelling, actionable analytics. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models for external clients, ensuring high interactivity, usability, and performance
- Leverage Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics for advanced data integration, ETL/ELT processing, and scalable data storage to support analytical solutions
- Translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications, and develop, test, and optimize Power BI solutions that address key business objectives
- Proactively provide support and troubleshooting for externally facing Power BI applications, ensuring prompt resolution of incidents and minimal downtime for end users
- Work cross-functionally with business analysts, data engineers, and product teams to gather requirements, identify pain points, and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions
- Stay current with the latest advancements in Power BI, Azure ecosystem, and data visualization methodologies, continuously recommending improvements and integrating best practices
- Ensure rigorous data governance, quality, security, and compliance across all Power BI assets, supporting consistent and accurate representation of organizational data
- Ensure meticulous attention to data consistency, integrity, and documentation
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications would be an advantage
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Data Engineer, with a focus on developing and maintaining Power BI applications
- Experience in Agile methodologies and principles, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
- Solid knowledge of Azure Databricks, Synapse, and other related technologies in the Azure Cloud
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and conduct necessary tests
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve data-related issues and ensure data consistency and integrity
- Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working with business partners, stakeholders, and team members
- Solid organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex analytical insights to both technical and non-technical external stakeholders
- Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, delivering creative solutions to challenging data and reporting issues
- Demonstrated expertise in balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, client-facing environments
- Superior organizational and time management abilities, with a proactive and customer-centric approach to project delivery and support
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering a positive, results-oriented work culture
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, custom visuals, and embedding reports in customer-facing applications
- Experience with API integrations, Row-Level Security (RLS), and data security best practices in externally facing business intelligence applications
- Advanced proficiency with Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure data services for large-scale data processing and analytics
- Solid understanding of data architecture, data warehousing concepts, and database design, preferably with SQL-based and cloud-native technologies
- Solid competency in code versioning tools such as Git, with experience managing deployments and collaborating in a DevOps environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Understanding or experience with AI/ML techniques and their application in data analysis
