Seeking technical Data Analyst to collaborate in researching, documenting, designing, qualifying data throughout the Surest data platform.
- Surest is looking for a Data Analyst who can work within a data engineering team to synthesize business requirements and priorities, and develop corresponding technical requirements, document data scenarios as well as validate proposed and coded solutions
- Position includes working with all aspects of Health Plan data as well as becoming a SME on the processes and flow of data throughout the technical and business platform

- Position includes the opportunity for the analyst to build technical data engineering skills to include development and deployment of data processing pipelines using python and spark

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review vendor/partner data and Surest capabilities to create data definitions, transformation logic, and data organization options based on business requirements
- Contribute to the data processing design and development process, providing inputs based on completed analysis and data mappings
- involvement in developing and deploying data processing pipelines
- Translate data analysis and business logic into documentation that can be understood by broad audiences
- Analyze Surest healthcare data to elicit patterns in the data that can be communicated to data engineers to optimize the processing, quality and storage of the data
- Collaborate with data and quality engineers on data pipeline development to ensure adherence to requirements, data quality and testing completeness
- Analysis providing detailed insights into new and existing data requests to support new requirements definitions and data pipeline development

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience writing complex SQL for the purposes of data analysis and discovery
- 3+ years of experience creating technical analysis including documentation and communication with technical engineers and data customers
- 3+ years of experience writing stories for software developers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience analyzing health plan data (Enrollment, Claims, etc.)
- Experience with Transactional and Data Lake data stores
- Experience working in highly matrixed, sometimes ambiguous, complex environments with multiple stakeholders
- Experience attending and participating in scrum agile ceremonies
- Experience identifying process improvements and implementing processes related to data pipeline effectiveness and efficiency
- Experience working with Databricks
- Experience developing in Python, Spark framework or some other programming language
- History tracking down stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather requirements and communicate existing state development
- Demonstrated clear, concise communication skills with solid ability to translate technical jargon into business understandings

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
