Reporting to the Regional Director, the Senior Practice Manager is responsible for overall leadership and management of daily operations as well as individual management of Practice Managers at multiple practice sites. The incumbent will partner with the Regional Director and Regional Medical Director to achieve goals comprised of financial, quality, and patient satisfaction, as well as employee and provider satisfaction. The Senior Practice Manager (SPM) will monitor goals regularly to ensure practices are efficient and providing quality care. The SPM will be held accountable for goals and objectives while working collaboratively with other Senior Practice Managers to function as one group practice. The SPM will provide oversight to practice sites positioned in the Western/Central area of Connecticut. The SPM will be physically present in practice sites on a daily basis and travel to our Central Office located in Farmington as needed for onsite meetings. Sites to include Danbury, Newtown, Bethel, Ridgefield, Hamden, Prospect, Cheshire, Torrington.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee office operations to maximize patient access, provider productivity, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes in conjunction with the site-specific manager
- Responsible for productive and efficient provider schedule management at practice sites
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for quality patient care across the region
- Coach and mentor site specific managers as needed
- Ensure practice compliance with ProHealth policies, procedures and programs
- Establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Audit and reinforce standard work procedures in collaboration with Operational Excellence
- Manage change and transition by anticipating need, developing detailed plans and applying change initiatives to support staff
- Support hiring, on-boarding, and evaluation of staff
- Work with site-specific managers to promote a positive culture
- Participate, or facilitate, practice, regional and organizational meetings and trainings
- Develop and implement long range plans in coordination with Regional Director and Regional Medical Director
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience managing a medical practice
- 3+ years of experience using an electronic health record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting a primary care setting
- Experience using Epic
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding and billing
- Knowledge of population health and quality metrics
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma process improvement tools and techniques
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated business and analytical skills
- Demonstrated solid oral and written communication skills
The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
